Medior API Platform Engineer - AWS & API Management (Freelance possible)

This role focuses on the setup, governance, and ongoing evolution of an API management platform in a cloud-native environment.

📋 Tasks and responsibilities

• Advise on and coordinate the setup and further development of the API management platform.
• Work in a technology-agnostic way and contribute to future solution assessments.
• Align with enterprise architecture and technical architects on API middleware, standards, and direction.
• Structure and maintain API documentation, and define and enforce API policies.
• Support teams in designing secure, consistent, and reusable APIs.
• Ensure governance, observability, and compliance across the full API lifecycle, in close collaboration with development, product, and security teams.
• Use hands-on Kubernetes expertise to contribute to the design, maintenance, and evolution of container-based platform services.
• Help drive the expected evolution toward platform engineering, including automation, self-service capabilities, and the standardization of API delivery and operations.

• Experience with API Management.
• Good knowledge of AWS.
• Experience with Monitoring & Observability.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to take initiative within your area of responsibility.
• Comfortable collaborating with architecture, development, product, and security stakeholders.
