Freelance AMLR Project Manager

📋 Tasks and responsibilities

As Project Manager AMLR, you play a central role in preparing and delivering the AMLR implementation within the Belgian business unit. The new EU Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR) introduces a harmonised European framework for anti-money laundering, with an important impact on customer data, controls, monitoring, governance and reporting.

In this role, you identify the required changes to processes and tooling and ensure their implementation across both business and IT. You help translate regulatory obligations into practical actions and a realistic execution plan.

• Assess the impact of AMLR on processes, systems, data flows and governance.
• Translate regulatory requirements into a clear implementation roadmap and concrete actions.
• Lead and coordinate regulatory change initiatives across business and IT teams.
• Manage multiple workstreams, dependencies and priorities in a structured way.
• Collaborate with stakeholders from compliance, legal, risk, data, architecture and delivery teams.
• Drive alignment across several business domains and support consistent implementation at wider organisational level.
• Communicate clearly with senior and executive stakeholders and build consensus around priorities and delivery.
• Work in an Agile environment and ensure progress toward regulatory deadlines while balancing business needs.

📝 Your profile

• You have solid project management experience, including at least 5 years of experience leading regulatory change and/or compliance-related initiatives.
• You bring strong expertise in compliance and AML topics.
• You have a good understanding of financial services and the insurance industry.
• You are able to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business and IT solutions.
• You can evaluate the impact of regulatory change on processes, systems, data and governance, and convert this into a clear roadmap.
• You work autonomously and combine strong analytical skills with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• You have proven experience in executive stakeholder management and in building alignment across multiple domains.
• You are comfortable working with business, compliance, legal, risk, data and IT stakeholders.
• You are able to keep the bigger picture in mind while delivering concrete short-term results.
• You are fluent in English and in French and/or Dutch.
