Functional Test Analyst (Freelance possible)

📋 Tasks and responsibilities

As Functional & Test Analyst, you contribute to the further development and evolution of applications that support the energy transition, including customer-facing solutions, systems for managing vulnerable customers, and connected mobile, web and data-hub applications.

• You gather and analyze business needs, lead discussions and workshops, and help stakeholders align on the most suitable solution.
• You define functional solution options in line with the IT architecture, taking into account the full end-to-end application and technology chain, and validate these with the business.
• You act as the link between business stakeholders and development partners, and translate requirements into clear functional analyses and design documentation.
• You follow up the development lifecycle and carry out needs analysis and functional analysis using the applicable methods and tools, including UML and Enterprise Architect or a similar modelling tool.
• You review proposed technical solutions and monitor the quality of development deliverables.
• You coordinate, prepare and execute test plans and test scenarios, covering end-to-end testing and the different test phases required for a successful implementation.
• You coordinate testing activities across business teams, functional analysts, developers and project managers.
• You help ensure production-ready quality, maintain reference documentation, and support the implementation of new or updated solutions.
• You contribute to application management together with developers.
• You identify, analyze and document bugs, validate XML and messages where relevant, and follow up their resolution.
• You support incident and problem management as second-line support, including functional and incident analysis using tools such as Jira and SQL queries.
• You work within a Scrum environment and take into account relevant energy-market processes and regulations such as MIG/UMIG.

📝 Your profile

• You have solid experience as a Functional Analyst with a strong focus on testing and end-to-end quality assurance.
• You are fluent in French or Dutch and have a good knowledge of the other national language.
• You hold an ISTQB certification.
• You have proven experience in coordinating testing across business stakeholders, functional analysts, developers and project managers.
• You are experienced in designing and executing test scenarios and in test coordination across multiple phases.
• You have strong skills in requirements analysis.
• You have experience with incident/problem analysis and second-line support.
• You work confidently with Jira.
• You can use SQL queries for functional analysis and incident investigation.
• You are familiar with energy market regulation processes such as MIG/UMIG.
• You are comfortable working in a Scrum methodology.
• You have experience with XML or message validation.
• You are familiar with a modelling tool, such as Enterprise Architect.
