Facilities Automation Project Engineer (Freelance possible)

📋 Tasks and responsibilities

As Project Engineer for Facilities Automation, you help define and deliver technical installations from the earliest project phase onward. You gather needs from stakeholders such as maintenance, production, QA and EHS, and convert these into clear technical specifications.

You represent the operational requirements during collaboration with suppliers and ensure that all required project documentation is prepared accurately. This includes, among others, bills of quantities, cleanroom-related specifications and validation documentation. You also coordinate the preparation, adjustment and review of electrical diagrams in line with agreed standards, while maintaining smooth communication with all involved parties.

• Translate stakeholder needs into technical and functional specifications
• Support the engineering and documentation of facility automation installations
• Prepare and follow up on project documentation, including quantities, cleanroom specifications and validation files
• Ensure electrical drawings are created, updated and reviewed according to standards
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers throughout the project lifecycle
• Contribute to reliable project execution, continuous improvement and compliance with agreed procedures

📝 Your profile

You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering field such as Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial or Chemical Engineering, combined with relevant professional experience.

• Typically 2 to 5 years of relevant experience
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Solid analytical, problem-solving and organizational abilities
• Good time-management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects in parallel
• Experience with project management tools
• Good understanding of engineering principles, construction methods and applicable regulatory standards
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams

You operate at a level where you can independently execute assigned responsibilities within established procedures, contribute consistently to team objectives and support decision-making based on predefined criteria.
