Senior Release Management Support Officer (Freelance possible)

Omschrijving

For a complex transformation program in Brussels, this role focuses on coordinating, governing and safeguarding the end-to-end release process across multiple teams and delivery partners. The aim is to keep releases aligned, controlled and deployed in a consistent, reliable way while minimizing risks for the platform and business operations.

📋 Tasks and responsibilities

  1. Multi-vendor release coordination
    • Coordinate and align release planning across multiple vendors, domains and project teams.
    • Maintain a consolidated and realistic release calendar for the program, and align with releases in the legacy environment when needed.
    • Facilitate alignment between interdependent deliveries and manage cross-team dependencies.
    • Act as the central point of contact for all release-related activities.
  2. Release governance & process management
    • Define, implement and enforce the release management framework for the program.
    • Ensure adherence to release stages, quality gates and approval processes.
    • Maintain clear entry and exit criteria and confirm readiness before deployment.
    • Drive continuous improvement of release processes through automation and stronger release practices.
  3. Release impact & risk management
    • Own and facilitate the release impact assessment process across all involved stakeholders.
    • Ensure that functional, technical, operational and business impacts are clearly identified and managed.
    • Support projects and delivery teams in applying the release impact procedure consistently.
    • Proactively identify risks such as conflicts, data inconsistencies and performance issues, and ensure mitigation actions are defined.
  4. Alignment between legacy and target environments
    • Coordinate releases in the target platform with ongoing operations in the legacy environment.
    • Maintain visibility on dependencies and constraints between both environments.
    • Safeguard business continuity during the transition phase.
    • Provide clear reporting and oversight on combined release impacts across both platforms.
  5. Communication & stakeholder management
    • Provide transparent and structured communication on release planning, status, risks and decisions.
    • Align with governance bodies, project leads, delivery partners and operational teams.
    • Facilitate release boards or forums to support decision-making.
  6. Monitoring & reporting
    • Track release progress, risks and issues across all stakeholders.
    • Provide consolidated reporting at program level.
    • Ensure post-release evaluations and lessons learned are captured and applied.
  7. CI/CD pipeline governance & enablement
    • Define and promote a standardized CI/CD strategy across all teams contributing to the platform.
    • Ensure alignment on build, integration, testing and deployment pipelines to enable consistent and reliable releases.
    • Safeguard the integration of multiple pipelines into one coherent end-to-end release flow.
    • Ensure automated testing, including unit, integration and regression testing, is embedded in the CI/CD pipelines.
    • Monitor pipeline performance, such as build success rate, deployment frequency and failure recovery, and drive improvements.
    • Collaborate with architecture and platform teams to keep pipelines aligned with platform standards, security and compliance requirements.
    • Promote release automation and shift-left practices to reduce manual intervention and improve release predictability.

Ervaring en expertise

  • Aantoonbare ervaring in een testingcontext.
  • Aantoonbare ervaring in het coördineren en faciliteren van operationele teams.
  • Aantoonbare ervaring in multi-stakeholder releasecoördinatie over meerdere teams.
  • Aantoonbare ervaring met CI/CD-pipelines en release automation.
  • Aantoonbare ervaring met ITSM-tooling, waaronder Topdesk.
  • Aantoonbare ervaring met het opzetten en verbeteren van release management processen.
  • Aantoonbare ervaring met release governance en risicomanagement.
  • Aantoonbare ervaring met het vertalen van een releasestrategie naar operationele impact.
  • Aantoonbare relevante werkervaring binnen het domein van release management.
  • Goede kennis van MS Office-toepassingen, in het bijzonder Word, Excel en PowerPoint.
  • Je beschikt over een gestructureerde, proactieve en oplossingsgerichte mindset en bent in staat releases kritisch in vraag te stellen.
  • Aantoonbare kennis van de Belgische energiemarkt.

Talen

  • Engels op Europees CEFR-niveau C1.
  • Nederlands of Frans op Europees CEFR-niveau C1.
  • In staat om de tweede landstaal te begrijpen op Europees CEFR-niveau B2.

Certificaties

  • ITIL 4 Foundation of hoger.
  • ISTQB Foundation certificaat.
