📋 Tasks and responsibilities
The Enterprise Portfolio Transformation Lead is responsible for putting the Corporate Portfolio Office into practice and anchoring portfolio governance, prioritisation and execution discipline across the organisation. The position focuses on converting the governance model into concrete processes, structures and working methods, so it can be applied consistently and strengthen delivery of strategic initiatives.
This role helps connect demand management, budgeting, capacity planning and execution follow-up within one coherent operating model. Working under the guidance of the Head of Corporate Portfolio Management, the position contributes to the rollout and scaling of portfolio governance throughout the organisation. It also supports structured prioritisation and decision-making by bringing practical implementation insight and contributing to the refinement of governance frameworks.
Key competences
- Portfolio governance implementation
Implement and operationalise enterprise portfolio governance frameworks and processes. - Support the preparation and facilitation of governance bodies, such as portfolio committees and workgroups, while ensuring compliance with agreed structures and processes.
- Translate governance principles into practical workflows, templates and routines.
- Provide feedback and improvement input based on hands-on operational experience.
- Demand & prioritisation process operationalisation
Implement structured demand intake processes and decision gates. - Ensure the consistent application of prioritisation criteria and governance rules.
- Integrate demand, prioritisation and approval flows into an end-to-end process.
- Support the structuring and consolidation of business cases.
- Budget & capacity integration
Embed financial governance, including investment tracking and budget alignment, into portfolio processes. - Ensure alignment between prioritisation decisions, available capacity and operational constraints.
- Support portfolio-level visibility on investments and resource usage.
- Portfolio execution oversight
Ensure consistent follow-up of initiative progress, risks and dependencies from a governance perspective. - Set up structured performance tracking and reporting mechanisms.
- Identify and escalate execution gaps and structural delivery issues.
- Portfolio data & process discipline
Safeguard data quality, consistency and completeness across portfolio tools and reporting. - Standardise reporting practices and improve transparency of portfolio information.
- Promote adoption of portfolio management tools and processes.
- Transformation & change enablement
Support the rollout of the Corporate Portfolio Office as a transformation initiative. - Drive adoption of governance processes and new ways of working.
- Clarify roles, responsibilities and interfaces across stakeholders.
- Cross-functional alignment
Collaborate with Strategy, Finance, IT and business teams to ensure consistent application of portfolio processes. - Facilitate alignment between governance expectations and operational realities.
- Act as a link between the portfolio office and delivery teams.
Profile & experience
- Master’s degree or equivalent through experience.
- Native or fluent in French or Dutch, with a very good working knowledge of the other national language (minimum B2), and fluent English.
- At least 7 years of experience in portfolio management, transformation or governance roles, including experience shaping and embedding portfolio governance frameworks that support prioritisation, trade-offs and strategy execution in complex organisational environments.
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategic objectives into execution.
- Proven experience implementing and operationalising enterprise portfolio governance frameworks and decision-making processes.
- Proven experience leading enterprise-wide transformation and governance implementation initiatives.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders in complex environments.
- Strong expertise in demand management, prioritisation, trade-offs and capacity management.
- Proven experience in governance design and implementation.
- Strong ability to structure, synthesise and communicate complex topics into clear executive-level messages and decision-support materials.
Additional experience considered a plus
- Experience establishing, transforming or maturing a Portfolio Office, EPMO or CPFO.
- Experience in regulated environments, such as utilities or the public sector.
- Experience in the energy sector.
- Familiarity with project, program and portfolio methodologies such as PMI, PRINCE2, SAFe and PM².
- Experience managing complex enterprise portfolios.
- Experience with portfolio management tools such as Planview or Clarity PPM.
- Experience in strategy definition or strategy-to-execution alignment.
