Employee Benefits Product Owner (Freelance possible)

📋 Tasks and responsibilities

As Product Owner Employee Benefits, you play a central role in defining and delivering the Employee Benefits strategy. You act as the link between business and IT for one or more key products and processes within this domain.

You translate the needs of customers, distribution partners and internal teams into digital solutions and process enhancements that create measurable value. With your customer focus, business insight and digital mindset, you help strengthen the Employee Benefits offering and improve the overall customer and partner experience.

What will you do?

• Define and communicate the vision, roadmap and priorities for one or more key Employee Benefits products and processes.
• Detect opportunities to improve and digitalize customer, partner and employee journeys.
• Convert business needs, customer feedback, regulatory requirements and strategic goals into clear features, epics and user stories.
• Own and prioritize the product backlog based on business value and customer impact.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, Agile teams, architects, domain leads and fellow Product Owners.
• Collaborate with product developers, operations, customer service, distribution partners and portfolio managers to design and deliver suitable solutions.
• Support Agile ceremonies such as PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Reviews and Retrospectives.
• Validate delivered solutions and ensure they meet business requirements and expected customer outcomes.
• Coordinate dependencies across teams and facilitate effective stakeholder alignment.
• Contribute actively to transformation and digitalization initiatives within the Employee Benefits domain.
• Follow market trends, customer expectations and technology developments, and translate them into concrete improvement opportunities.
• Manage stakeholder expectations transparently and ensure strong alignment across business and delivery teams.

📝 Your profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent through experience.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in product ownership, digital transformation, customer journey redesign, project management or business transformation.
• Proven experience as a medior Product Owner.
• Strong affinity with financial services, with knowledge of insurance and Employee Benefits as a strong asset.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments, ideally within a SAFe framework.
• Strong skills in stakeholder management, communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Solid analytical abilities and a data-informed approach to decision-making.
• Hands-on experience in customer journey redesign and digital transformation initiatives.
• Good understanding of business transformation challenges and how to translate them into actionable product improvements.
• Languages: Dutch or French, and English.
