The Service Description:

The Strategic Procurement & Buying entails focusing on optimizing procurement processes and managing supplier relationships for various engineering, production, packaging, construction, and capital service activities.

Key services include sourcing new suppliers, negotiating terms, and maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers to ensure maximum value and reduced risk. The service means being responsible for reviewing and managing the procurement schedule, conducting bid analysis, processing purchase orders, and resolving invoice queries. This service also involves preparing regular reports on purchasing activities for project teams, collaborating with other teams to streamline procurement processes, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and eliminate wasteful processes.

Furthermore, the service is contributing to cost savings through competitive bidding and market trend analysis, and developing and improving internal customer procurement relationships to drive continuous improvement or mitigate risks and costs.

This service entails working with the global Category Strategy Manager (CSM) to develop and implement category strategiesQualifications.

For this service, the ideal service resource holds a Bachelors degree or equivalent in fields such as Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Buying experience is required, preferably within the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.

Essential competencies include strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively manage supplier relationships, and robust analytical skills to interpret market data and performance metrics.

The resource must be highly organized with proven proficiency in managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously, and a track record of meeting deadlines.

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is crucial for managing procurement processes. An understanding of the pharmaceutical industrys regulatory environment, including compliance, healthcare laws, and ethical marketing practices, is also vital.

Fluency in both English and Dutch.

The senior service level outlines the delivery of advanced and autonomous services within a defined scope.

The services include the execution of strategic initiatives, resolution of complex issues, development of innovative solutions, and guidance of technical direction. The scope may also encompass coordination of other resources (team management) and facilitation of knowledge transfer within service parameters.

Successful completion of this service level is evaluated based on the impact on strategic objectives, the ability to influence decisions across multiple service streams, and the consistent provision of solutions to complex challenges.
