📋 Tasks and responsibilities

The Change Manager acts as a strategic partner to leaders and transformation teams, helping to drive change adoption across functions and geographies. The role also contributes to the further development of change management standards, toolkits and ways of working, ensuring people-side change is handled in a consistent, scalable and measurable way across initiatives.

Project description

This role supports complex transformation initiatives, including corporate strategy execution, digitalisation and process transformation. The focus is on aligning business goals, people impact and sustainable adoption outcomes.

  • Define and lead change strategy and adoption end-to-end
    • Translate transformation priorities into clear, actionable change strategies and roadmaps.
    • Define the change journey for different audiences, linking business outcomes to behavioural adoption goals.
    • Set measurable adoption KPIs such as readiness, usage, proficiency, compliance and sentiment, and monitor benefits realisation.
  • Enable leadership and sponsorship
    • Advise senior stakeholders to strengthen active and visible sponsorship and reinforce accountability for adoption.
    • Support leaders with messaging, narratives, stakeholder mapping and coaching to help them lead change clearly and consistently.
    • Challenge and influence stakeholders proactively to maintain alignment, prioritisation and decision-making speed.
  • Design and deliver integrated change interventions
    • Create and implement integrated plans covering stakeholder engagement, communication, learning and capability building, and behavioural reinforcement.
    • Ensure interventions are scalable, data-driven and aligned with enterprise standards and governance.
    • Coordinate change calendars to reduce change saturation and improve sequencing across initiatives.
  • Manage stakeholders, resistance and risk
    • Work effectively across functions, countries and organisational levels to build engagement networks and coalitions.
    • Identify resistance and adoption risks early and define mitigation and reinforcement actions.
    • Collaborate closely with HR, business leads, project teams and communication stakeholders to support consistent execution.
  • Strengthen change capability and improve the practice
    • Help evolve change methodologies, templates and playbooks by contributing lessons learned and best practices.
    • Coach project teams and HR partners to embed change excellence and increase organisational change maturity.
    • Capture outcomes and insights across initiatives and share them to improve overall effectiveness.

Technical profile requirements

  • At least 7 years of proven experience as a Change Manager or in a comparable people-focused transformation role within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with large-scale organisational transformation, adoption measurement and benefits realisation.
  • Strong knowledge of change management principles, tools and metrics, with the ability to design robust change strategies and plans.
  • Solid understanding of project and programme delivery methods, and the ability to integrate change activities into delivery plans.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Lean environments, including adoption in iterative delivery settings.
  • Experience working across geographies and cultures in an enterprise environment.

Non-Technical profile requirements

  • Excellent communication, facilitation and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust with senior stakeholders and teams.
  • Strong autonomy and ownership, combined with structured problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven coaching ability for leaders and people managers, and confidence in constructive challenge.
  • Collaborative mindset with a strong sense of accountability and consistency.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous, complex and fast-paced environments with competing priorities.

Methodology/Certification requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Psychology, Communications, IT, Engineering or a related field.
  • A Master's degree is an advantage.
  • Certification in Change Management, such as Prosci or CCMP, is strongly preferred.
  • Practical experience in strengthening sponsorship effectiveness is essential.

Language proficiencies

  • Fluent English, both spoken and written.
  • Additional languages such as Dutch, French or German are an advantage, depending on stakeholder geography.

Location

  • Remote work is possible.
  • For candidates based locally, on-site presence in Brussels is expected 3 days per week.
  • For candidates based outside the local area, regular travel to Brussels and Germany is expected.
