CRM Product Owner - Master Data Management (Freelance possible)

📋 Tasks and responsibilities

This role focuses on leading the CRM stream end to end in an environment where customer, member and contact data is currently spread across several systems, including multiple CRM solutions. The objective is to move towards one consolidated CRM supported by strong master data management foundations.

You will report to the IT Manager, with day-to-day alignment through the Enterprise Architect. The position includes on-site presence two days per week.

The role

Your assignment covers three main areas:

1. Map and analyse
   In collaboration with the architecture team, identify the systems that contain customer, member and contact data, clarify how they are connected, and document the current AS-IS landscape.
2. Define the target state and roadmap
   Develop the TO-BE vision and the transition plan, including selection of the future CRM platform through requirements gathering, RFP preparation and vendor evaluation, as well as the master data model and governance approach it must support.
3. Launch and lead the implementation track
   A dedicated project team will be set up for delivery. In this context, you will act as Product Owner, structure and prioritise the backlog, facilitate business workshops and guide the implementation towards a single consolidated CRM platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the CRM consolidation track from several existing CRM systems to one target platform.
• Inventory and analyse the systems containing customer and member master data together with the architecture team.
• Describe the AS-IS situation, design the TO-BE landscape and prepare the migration roadmap.
• Organise and manage the CRM selection process, including requirements definition, RFP preparation and vendor assessment.
• Establish the master data management foundations, including definitions, ownership, golden record principles and data quality.
• Take the Product Owner role for the implementation team, with responsibility for backlog management, prioritisation and stakeholder alignment.
• Embed this track within the broader data governance framework in close cooperation with architecture and data stakeholders.
