Industrial Project Manager (Freelance optional)

📋 Tasks and responsibilities

For an industrial site in Olen, we are looking for a medior Project Manager to lead technical projects from pre-study through execution and handover. Project values typically range from around 250K to more than 5 million euro and may relate to production facilities, infrastructure and R&D initiatives.

You will work in a project engineering environment and take end-to-end ownership of assigned projects, whether they are in start-up phase or already ongoing.

• Define project scope, deliverables, budget and planning together with stakeholders.
• Set up, coordinate and lead multidisciplinary project teams.
• Oversee the technical design of the full project.
• Prepare specifications and tender documents for suppliers, engineering partners and contractors.
• Support the selection of suppliers, engineering firms, contractors and specialist resources.
• Direct and follow up internal and external resources throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage changes during the project and translate approved scope changes into the plan.
• Report progress, risks and key decisions to stakeholders and management.

📝Your profile

• 3 to 5 years of experience managing end-to-end projects with full responsibility, from pre-study to execution and delivery.
• You have completed at least 5 relevant projects as Project Manager, typically in the 100K-2500K range.
• Good knowledge of common project management practices and planning methods.
• Experience with MS Project or similar planning software.
• A technical background as an engineer or project engineer.
• Broad knowledge of multiple technical disciplines such as mechanics, electricity, piping and civil works.
• Knowledge of or experience in the process industry.
• Strong analytical skills combined with a helicopter view.
• Technical knowledge in areas such as electromechanics and chemistry.
• Strong reporting skills.
• A team-oriented mindset and clear communication with stakeholders at different levels.
• You can guide and coach a team and challenge proposed solutions when needed.
• You ask the right questions and have a strong interest in technology, engineering and project management.
• Fluent Dutch and very good English.
• VCA-VOL certification.
• Available to work 100% onsite in Olen, with occasional travel abroad when required.

Interview process

The process consists of an initial interview via Teams, followed by an onsite interview including a site tour and a case study.
