📋 Tasks and responsibilities
We are looking for a Digital Communication & Ecosystem Lead to strengthen visibility, credibility and reach within the European deep-tech ecosystem.
This proactive role combines communication strategy, content creation, event marketing and ecosystem engagement. You will help further position a venture-building and startup support platform by shaping and executing its communication approach, managing its external presence, expanding its network, and supporting ecosystem activities and events.
- Communication strategy & planning
- Develop, implement and continuously refine the communication strategy.
- Create and manage an annual content and communication calendar.
- Identify and prioritize new channels through a data-driven approach to grow the community, increase European visibility and support dealflow.
- Define, monitor and evaluate communication and marketing KPIs and success metrics.
- Ensure alignment with the broader corporate communication strategy and applicable guidelines.
- Social media management
- Take ownership of the LinkedIn presence and manage the channel on an ongoing basis.
- Create, write and publish engaging content regularly.
- Follow up on engagement and interact with relevant stakeholders.
- Build thought leadership around topics such as deep-tech entrepreneurship, venture building, innovation commercialisation, sustainability, climate innovation, startup success stories and research-based entrepreneurship.
- Content creation & storytelling
- Develop compelling stories featuring startups, researchers, investors and partners.
- Conduct interviews and create testimonials and founder stories based on investment cases.
- Write articles, blog posts, newsletters and website content.
- Translate complex technologies into clear, engaging and accessible narratives.
- Coordinate visual content, photography and video production where needed.
- Edit photos and videos, and create visuals using tools such as Canva, Illustrator or similar applications.
- Produce corporate, marketing and product-oriented copy tailored to the target audience.
- Event communication & promotion
- Support communication activities before, during and after events.
- Prepare event communication plans and help implement them effectively.
- Promote participation in conferences and ecosystem events.
- Provide live event coverage and create supporting content.
- Deliver post-event reports, recaps and success stories.
- Ecosystem engagement & event development
- Proactively identify relevant European startup, innovation and investment events.
- Spot partnership opportunities that can increase visibility and impact.
- Help define and launch community initiatives and proprietary event concepts such as founder meetups, deep-tech breakfast sessions, investor roundtables, venture-building workshops, demo days and networking events.
- Support event planning, promotion and stakeholder engagement.
- Help attract speakers, partners and participants.
📝 Your profile
- You have a higher education degree.
- You bring experience in communication, marketing, copywriting, ecosystem building and/or community management.
- You have hands-on expertise in event marketing and stakeholder engagement.
- You are comfortable drafting and/or implementing communication plans, including internal communication where relevant.
- You have experience with corporate, marketing and/or product copywriting.
- You stay up to date with trends and developments in digital communication, content marketing and social media.
- You have experience working with startups and understand the dynamics of entrepreneurial and innovation-driven environments.
- You work in a data-driven way and know how to use performance insights to improve communication impact.
- You can edit photos and videos and create visual assets using tools such as Canva, Illustrator or similar software.
- English is required for this assignment; Dutch is not mandatory.
⚠️ This position is offered as a part-time freelance role (40%).
