Freelance — Senior Party Chief Survey Offshore & Dredging

🛠️ Department Description and responsibilities

As Party Chief, you will focus on inshore survey activities throughout the project lifecycle, including mobilization, execution, as-built delivery and demobilization.

🛠️ Primary Tasks and responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute all survey-related activities on the project.
• Plan and carry out survey work in line with quality and HSE procedures.
• Perform QA/QC checks on survey data and verify compliance with project-specific requirements.
• Prepare and distribute the data required to support cable laying and trenching vessels.
• Deliver survey data in accordance with the agreed planning and delivery schedule.
• Share survey outcomes clearly with the project team.
• Prepare and maintain GIS data.
• Troubleshoot issues with survey equipment and software.
• Report directly to the Chief Surveyor.

📝 Your profile

• You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in a Chief Surveyor role within a comparable environment.
• You have hands-on experience with cable shore pull, installation activities and dredging operations.
• You have experience with total station systems, network setups, Octans and GNSS.
• You are proficient with BricsCAD, Qinsy, Civil 3D, QGIS or ArcGIS Pro, DTPS, NavaQ and Tendo.
• You hold a bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics or a related field.
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• You communicate effectively, work well with others and pay close attention to detail.
• You are flexible and willing to work in different locations depending on project needs.
• You speak and write fluent English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• You hold a valid VCA or SCC basic certificate, BOSIET certification (or equivalent such as STCW or FOET), Working at Heights certification, and an Offshore Medical Certificate.
• You are eligible to work on location; for non-Dutch nationalities, an A1 document is required.

📍 Location

The work takes place on board a vessel in inland waters. Accommodation is provided on a hotel vessel.
