Senior Healthcare IT Business Analyst (Freelance possible)

📋 Tasks and responsibilities

During the initial scoping phase, you will take the lead on the functional analysis of a dental care solution in a healthcare environment. The objective is to translate clinical and administrative needs into clear functional requirements, identify the gap between the standard capabilities of the EHR dental module and Belgian regulatory or operational needs, and provide reliable input for an informed investment decision.

• Facilitate focused workshops with dentists, hygienists and administrative users to capture current workflows, key needs and operational constraints.
• Analyse and document business processes using structured business modeling techniques.
• Carry out a detailed gap analysis between the standard software capabilities and the specific Belgian dental context, including INAMI/RIZIV requirements.
• Write functional analyses and specifications for custom developments required to address identified gaps.
• Define interface and data flow requirements between the EHR module and the custom Belgian extensions.
• Prepare development effort and cost estimates to support the business case.
• Create clear process maps and functional documentation, including diagrams in Visio.
• Ensure the proposed solution fits with broader ITSM and enterprise architecture principles where relevant.

📝Your profile

• Proven experience as a senior Functional Analyst or Senior IT Process Analyst, ideally in a healthcare or hospital setting.
• Strong analytical ability and the capacity to convert complex clinical processes into structured functional requirements within a tight timeframe.
• Experience in analytics, business process management and business modeling.
• Senior-level expertise in enterprise architecture and ITSM.
• Expert use of Visio for process and functional documentation.
• Knowledge of Epic EHR is an advantage, ideally with exposure to its dental module.
• Professional proficiency in English and French.
