📋 Tasks and responsibilities
As a Test Automation Engineer, you help ensure that developed software performs as expected from both a technical and a functional perspective. You contribute your testing expertise to the software delivery team and support a high-quality release process across applications and integrations.
You work closely with functional analysts, developers and software engineers, and you contribute to both day-to-day test execution and the ongoing improvement of testing practices.
- Review acceptance criteria and assess testability.
- Set up and maintain test automation tools, including Playwright.
- Create and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API testing.
- Execute automated and manual test scenarios, depending on the technology stack and project needs.
- Perform functional, non-functional and end-to-end testing, including testing with external partners.
- Track defects and issues, and prepare clear test reports.
- Support the team in estimating test effort and preparing test plans for projects.
- Help improve testing processes, QA practices and test deliverables.
📝 Your profile
- You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- You have at least 3 years of relevant experience in software testing.
- You have hands-on experience in test automation, with strong knowledge of API test automation and solid experience with Playwright.
- You have experience with UI and API testing in environments such as Angular and Java Spring Boot.
- You are familiar with testing Java services, web services, REST APIs and proxy services.
- You have a solid understanding of testing processes and quality assurance practices.
- You are comfortable working with tools such as ReadyAPI; knowledge of Jira and Xray is a plus.
- Experience with Groovy and TypeScript is an asset.
- Knowledge of AI prompting in a QA context and GITT is a plus.
- You have experience working in an Agile environment.
- You are fluent in Dutch and English or in French and English, and you have at least a good understanding of the other national language.
- You are a strong team player who shares knowledge and best practices openly with colleagues.
- You are eager to learn and further develop your testing expertise.
- You are detail-oriented and have strong analytical and communication skills.
Work location
You work in Brussels with a hybrid arrangement: 40% on site and 60% homeworking. Presence in the office on Friday is required.
