Senior SAP Master Data Migration Specialist (Freelance possible)

📋 Tasks and responsibilities

As part of a large-scale transition from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, the Master Data team is being strengthened to ensure high-quality data readiness across multiple deployment waves. We are looking for an experienced SAP Master Data Consultant with strong end-to-end project experience, excellent analytical capabilities, and hands-on expertise in data cleansing and migration.

The consultant will play a key role in preparing, validating, and migrating master data during several S/4HANA roll-outs.

Primary Tasks & Responsibilities

• Execute an initial data-cleansing exercise together with business stakeholders.
• Support the data-migration track across multiple roll-outs.
• Perform data scoping and clarification activities, including defining selection criteria and migration boundaries.
• Prepare data input files, ensuring data consistency, completeness, and alignment with S/4 data structures.
• Execute data-migration steps using tools such as LSMW, S/4 Migration Cockpit, SAP MDG, or custom-built utilities.
• Provide detailed data analysis, identify inconsistencies, and propose corrective actions.
• Collaborate closely with other functional domains to ensure end-to-end process alignment and data integrity.
• Document rules, cleansing strategies, migration results, and key decisions.

Technical Profile Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience with end-to-end SAP project implementations involving Master Data.
• Strong understanding of data integration across other SAP domains such as MM, SD, PP, and FI.
• Experience defining scope selection criteria, data-cleansing rules, and migration strategies.
• Strong data-analysis capabilities, including the ability to detect patterns, gaps, and quality issues.
• Experience with data-migration tools such as:
  • LSMW
  • S/4 Migration Cockpit
  • SAP MDG
  • Optional: BAPIs, IDocs, or custom load programs
• Experience working in template-based and custom-built SAP environments.

Methodology / Certification Requirements

• Experience with structured migration methodologies such as SAP Activate is a plus.
• Familiarity with data-governance principles such as MDG and data-quality frameworks.
• Formal SAP certifications are a strong plus, but not mandatory.

Language Proficiencies

• English: mandatory
• Dutch: preferred

Location

• Sites in Hoboken and Brussels
• Minimum 3 days/week onsite presence required
