Senior Windows/Linux System Administrator (Employed or freelance)

This role is part of a highly specialised technical environment that supports sensitive judicial investigations and crisis situations. The team is responsible for real-time telecommunications interception and observation, supported by dedicated infrastructure and in-house technical solutions.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior System Administrator to support the development and evolution of the organisation’s software and systems infrastructure. In this role, you will work closely with the team while ensuring the reliability, performance, and modernisation of server environments. You will work within a bilingual, interdisciplinary team and collaborate closely with experts in telecommunications interception, infrastructure engineering, and IT operations.

🛠️ Responsibilities:

Systems Engineering & Infrastructure Management

• Administer and maintain server environments (Windows/Linux).
• Manage Active Directory, GPO, DNS, and DHCP.
• Monitor and optimise virtualised environments (VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V).
• Ensure system security, patching, backups, and business continuity.
• Contribute to the design and evolution of robust, scalable system architectures.
• Automate recurring tasks using scripting tools such as Python, PowerShell, Perl, and Ansible.
• Collaborate with network, security, and support teams to ensure end-to-end system reliability.

Operational Excellence & Collaboration

• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to software and systems.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks, assess risks, and escalate when needed.
• Document infrastructure, processes, and application components.
• Work effectively in a multilingual, interdisciplinary environment.
• Contribute as a team player while being fully capable of working independently.

📝Your profile

Experience as: Expert IT System Administrator

Required experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience in system administration (Windows and Linux).
• Solid skills in virtualisation, storage, and security.
• Knowledge of cloud environments (Azure, AWS) is a plus.
• Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or equivalent).
• Understanding of infrastructure components such as networking, security, and identity management.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, or equivalent professional experience.
