Senior System Engineer (Freelance possible)

📋 Tasks and responsibilities

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior System Administrator to join our growing and dynamic team. As a Senior System Administrator, you will contribute to the management, supervision and optimization of system infrastructures, including hardware and software aspects. You will play a key role in the development of our new infrastructure, while maintaining and improving the existing infrastructure.

🛠️ Responsibilities:

· Manage, maintain and upgrade our existing and future hypervisors.

· Configure, deploy and administer Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, Debian & Redhat).

· Ensure the security, the performance and the availability of systems and data.

· Solve complex systems problems and suggest improvements.

· Carry out and/or supervise installation and maintenance tasks.

· Write and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

· Participate in the development of the technological evolution strategy for solutions.

· Experience in implementing Infrastructure as Code.

· Contribute as a team player while also being capable of working independently.

· Take responsibility for assigned tasks, assess risks appropriately, and seek guidance when necessary.

· Demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to self-learning and development.

Required experience:

· System Administrator Experience: 10Y

· Managing operating systems (Windows, Linux) and system software Experience: 5 Y

· Knowledge of virtualization technologies and associated management tools.

· Hands-on experience in Infrastructure as Code to Automate VMware Deployments

📝 Profile description

· You hold a bachelor’s degree or have 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience.

· Analytical mindset.

· Pragmatic, solution-oriented approach to technical challenges and/or incidents

· In depth understanding of mobile telecommunication technologies

· Curious and enthusiastic to learn

· You are fluent in either Dutch or French and have a solid understanding of the other language.

· You have a good command of written and spoken technical English.

· Discrete and stress resistant

A ‘TOP SECRET’ level security clearance is required for this position. as referred to in the law of 11/12/1998 on classification, security clearances, attestations and notices.

Teleworking is permitted with a maximum limit of 2 days per week.
